Equipment and Materials
For high-quality stamps we recommend using a flexible photosensitive resin material with an SLA printer. For stamp making we have had the greatest success with ENGR-F12L SuperFlex®. For small to medium stamps an entry-level Photon Mono 4K printer is suitable, scale to your specific needs. Resin printing requires a well ventilated area. For PPE consider at minimum a Full Face Organic Vapor, Chemical, & Particulate Respirator and Disposable Nitrile Gloves.
An FDM printer such as the Ender 3 v2 with flexible TPU filament can be substituted for a stamp that has reduced detail and surface contact resulting in lower quality transfers. Sain Smart TPU is our go to flexible filament that we have used in our earliest stamp prototypes.
For the handle and optional base we recommend any FDM printed PLA filament.
Project Design
With equipment and materials sorted it’s time to get to work!
To model the STL files a variety of 3D modeling platforms are available, such as Tinkercad, a free web app for 3D design, electronics, and coding. Using Tinkercad we can assemble text and geometric shapes and import scalable vector graphics for images.

Note that the text/image(s) on the stamp need to be mirrored for the print to orient correctly when stamping. For SVG manipulation Inkscape vector graphics software is a solid free and open-source (FOSS) option.
